This little painting was a study of a Hydrangea. Painting on black paper makes a bigger contrast.

I think this rose drawing turned out well. I gave it a colourwash to give the drawing some depth.

This little painting was done with Koh-I-Noor dye watercolours , Zig felt pens and Lumiere metallic acrylic paints. I think that it has a lovely depth about it.

This little painting was of a dried seed head. It was painted on good old fashioned sugar paper in a combination of ink and poster paint. I really like the way I have captured the shape and lines. My most successful work is all about the line. I was about 17 when I painted it. Nearly 40 years later I wish that I painted like that now! Perhaps I should break out the ink and gouache again?

Well here it is! I finished titivating this picture last night and I am thrilled with it. I really enjoyed drawing with Pebeo Touch. It brings out all the detail that I wanted. I also like the stenciling which makes some of the hearts look a bit different. Next job is to decide where on this wall I’m going to hang it!

Happiness is being covered in paint!

On a recent visit to Frameworks in Blyth just before Christmas we bought this painting to go in our red bedroom. This is the “after” picture as there were several words that were obscured by paint, some indecipherable yellow words and also 3 of the hearts had large swathes of gold leaf over them. I’m really pleased with how it’s looking. I still want to define the hearts with some black relief paint and outline some of the words.

Spent time today making this page for my “CREATIVE HEAVEN” blog.  I also spent several hours designing and ordering some new postcards from Vista Print. If you are interested in coming to a class, why don’t you give me a ring.

I’ve been titivating this little painting. The centres of the flowers needed encrusting and enhancing. I used micro beads, iridescent jewels and eyelash glitter. I love how it has turned out.

This is my little writing desk which I have positioned on the first half landing on our staircase. It reminds me of the Kermit the Frog song “Halfway down the stairs  is the place where I sit” . I looked everywhere for a small desk that would fit, and drove up to Blyth to an elegant shop called Frameworks . It has a lovely cafe/restaurant with beautiful food and a piano player at lunch time. A gentleman played old style music and I’ll give away my age because I recognised music which Russ Conway used to play on the BBC when I was a child. I’ve colour themed all my knick knacks, and am pleased with the small picture I painted on the easel on the left. It still needs some encrusting I think……. a few micro beads perhaps or some ultrafine glitter to add that little element of sparkle? The little silver daily calendar on the right came from my Mum & Dad’s home and is especially dear to me.
